File types and size limits
Canonical ATSReady list of accepted résumé file types and the enforced size ceilings for imports, avatars, journey attachments, saved job payloads, and stored photos.

Résumé file types
ATSReady imports résumés as PDF, DOCX, Markdown, or plain text. Import a resume is the workflow those files go through.
The file picker also offers legacy .doc, and the import rejects it. If you have a .doc, open it
and save it as .docx or PDF first. A rejected upload returns a message naming the four types above,
which is the fastest way to confirm this is what happened.
Résumé import limits
| Content | Limit |
|---|---|
| résumé PDF | 5 MB |
| résumé DOCX | 2 MB |
| résumé Markdown or plain text | 2 MB |
Photo and avatar limits
| Content | Limit |
|---|---|
| account avatar upload | 5 MB |
| Professional Journey attachment image | 5 MB |
| résumé photo after crop and re-encode | 1 MB |
The résumé-photo row is the only one measured after ATSReady has processed the file rather than as you selected it. The picture you choose is checked against the 5 MB upload ceiling; what gets stored is the cropped, re-encoded result, and that is what the 1 MB applies to. So a large photo is not automatically a rejected one.
Document attachment limits
| Content | Limit |
|---|---|
| Professional Journey attachment document | 10 MB |
Saved job payload limit
| Content | Limit |
|---|---|
| cleaned saved job HTML payload | 100 KB |
This one is not a file you choose. It is the size of the page content a saved job carries after ATSReady has stripped it down, and it is trimmed to fit rather than refused.
If something is rejected
Reduce the file or payload size, then retry the original workflow. If the size was never the problem, check the type against the list at the top of this page. If the workflow accepted the file and then stopped moving, continue with When something is stuck.

This page carries no screenshot. Its subject is a table of ceilings rather than a screen, and the only thing there would be to photograph is the rejection message — which the text above already quotes.
