Monthly job import allowance
Understand what the ATSReady monthly job allowance is actually spent on, which plans include it, what happens when it runs out, and where to check usage.

The monthly allowance is the one metered number in ATSReady, and it is spent by more than importing.

The counter is per calendar month and resets when that month ends.
What actually spends a slot
Four actions charge the same counter:
- importing a posting from a link
- saving a posting with the Chrome extension
- asking chat to import a posting from a link
- running the AI actions on a saved job
The last one is the one the name does not prepare you for. The AI pass over a saved job — skills extraction, resume tailoring, and company research — charges the allowance even though nothing is being imported. That is deliberate: the allowance meters AI work on job postings, and those three actions are the AI work. Adding a job by typing it in is the only path that runs no AI, so it is the only path that costs nothing.
Two of the four decline to charge when they do no work. The AI pass spends a slot only if at least one of its three actions actually started, so a run that skips or fails on all three costs you nothing. A posting the extension sends that you have already saved is rejected as a duplicate before the counter moves — When an extension save fails lists how each outcome reads in the panel.
What the allowance affects
If your plan includes no allowance at all, ATSReady treats that as a subscription requirement and
points the upgrade path to /pricing.
If your plan includes an allowance but the month's is spent, ATSReady returns a limit response carrying the current usage, the remaining count, and the reset time. These are two different refusals, and Why something is locked is the page that tells them apart.
Where you can see usage
On the Account page, ATSReady shows a usage card when the current plan has a positive allowance. A plan with none has no card, which is why the card can be missing without anything being wrong.
Result
Adding a job by hand still works after the allowance is spent, and it stays free. What does not work is asking the AI to do anything with that job: skills extraction, tailoring, and company research all charge the exhausted allowance and are refused until the next reset or an upgrade. If you need the AI pass this month, that is an upgrade decision rather than a workaround.
