Why a Professional Identity section is missing
Understand why an ATSReady identity section is absent rather than empty, which parts of the overview have a real minimum, and what to do about it.
On this page
A section is missing because whatever produced your overview returned nothing for it. ATSReady draws no empty section: Work Style Patterns, Notable Accomplishments, Key Strengths and Growth Areas each appear only when there is something in them, and are absent otherwise.
That is worth saying plainly, because it is not what an absence usually means. There is no waiting period, and there is no count of notes that unlocks a named section.
Which of the three states you are in
Nothing recorded. With no journal notes and no resume at all, the overview says so directly and offers Generate AI Overview. This is the only state that means "there is no material".
Built from rules. With a record but no AI overview written yet, ATSReady draws what it can derive without the model and says so at the top of the page. Rules can fill only two of the four sections: Key Strengths appears as soon as any skills exist, and Work Style Patterns appears once your record carries at least ten distinct skills. Notable Accomplishments and Growth Areas are always absent here — not because your evidence is thin, but because no rule writes them. This is the state most "missing section" questions are really about.
The written overview. This one exists only after a run has written it — a resume import, Generate AI Overview, or identity regeneration. It is not produced by opening the page, and it does not appear on its own once your record crosses some size. In this state any of the four sections can still be absent, and now the absence is about evidence: the run returned no entries of that kind. The Career Timeline and the skills card belong to this state too, so if they are missing, what is missing is the whole written overview rather than one section of it.
Resume suggestions are separate
Resume suggestions do not follow the rules above. They need at least one journal note, and once a set has been generated ATSReady will not generate another for seven days; asked during that window it answers with the date after which it can run again.
So if suggestions are absent shortly after you last generated them, the cooldown is the likelier explanation than your evidence, and adding more notes will not shorten it.
What to do
- Add evidence of the kind the missing section is about, in your professional journey notes. A note that says what changed as a result reads differently to the model than one that lists the tools you used.
- Run identity regeneration.
- Check Activity if the regeneration job does not finish cleanly.
If the overview is reporting nothing where you expected a span of experience, the cause is usually dates rather than evidence — Your import finished and it says 0 years of experience follows that case, and Why a Professional Journey entry needs dates owns the group it ends in.
If a section appears but is thin
The run wrote what your notes supported. Add more specific evidence of that kind and regenerate again; adding volume of a different kind will not fill it.
This page carries no screenshot. Everything it describes is a state a partly-filled account is in, and a complete record cannot be photographed in one — a picture of a full overview would illustrate the opposite of the page.
